The Risk and Quality Auditor assists in evaluating coding and documentation practices for health care providers and staff to ensure company goals and standards are being met. S/he will perform audits as needed for their region and assist education team and others for areas of opportunity amongst providers and staff. S/he will generate reports based on their findings and present said reports to the respective providers, regional educators, and practice managers.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Maintains active professional certification and complies with all educational, professional, and ethical requirements of said certification
• Understand proper documentation requirements for HCC coding.
• Maintain a high-level knowledge of Quality measures
• Provide weekly summary to Quality/MRA MGR of concerns and underperforming providers
• Coordinates with Quality Programs educators/Quality Programs Education lead, to provide reviews as needed to assist educational efforts
• Maintain a 95% accuracy in audits
• Stay current on applicable coding and quality metric changes and rules
• Work with new practices to provide feedback surrounding HCC coding and Quality metrics
• Monitor trends across the providers and care teams and escalate to leadership team as needed
• Provides clear, concise, and professional communication to varying audiences
• Monitors reviews for potential risks to the organization and elevates as needed to the leadership team

Education and/or Experience

Minimum three years' experience in a medical office and/or RHIT, RHIA, CRC, CPC, CPMA, CDEO and/or completion of a medical billing/coding course and/or HIM program.
