Global Risk Management's Mission:

  • The successful and optimized delivery of Oracle Services engagements through the assessment and mitigation of risk during both bid and delivery.
  • Continuous improvement of bid, delivery, and service creation processes in close cooperation with Oracle Services leaders.
  • The integration of acquired organizations to Oracle business processes through training, in-flight risk assessment, and due diligence project reviews

Global Risk Management reports to the Office of the CEO

Posting Description

Bid Review

  • Provide value add through early involvement and/or iterative feedback to bid managers with a focus on improving bid quality
  • Ensure bid documents clearly articulate the scope of work, as estimated, in clear and concise language with a focus on minimizing risk to Oracle
  • Write bid review commentary to provide Line of business with sufficient information to make informed approval decisions

Project Reviews

  • Participate in and manage compliance with project reviews per policy
  • Verify scope is delivered per the contract exhibit and project governance is compliant with the Global Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Work with respective PMOs to identify project risks and issues with a focus on customer success and Oracle profitability.

Other

  • Work in collaboration with Global and line of business PMOs on various initiatives
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to the GBU at all levels
  • Participate in other initiatives as assigned by management

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Coach Sales teams and Bid Managers on corporate polices, the bid process, tools, risk identification, evaluation and mitigation
  • Interface with other organizations involved in the bid review and approval process
  • Support the mergers and acquisition process by
    • reviewing in-flight deals
    • participating in reviews of in-process projects
    • training bid team members in Oracle’s policies and bid and project review processes
  • Serve as a project advisor on engagements subject to GRM review
  • Perform Monthly Status Reports (MSR) reviews in collaboration with the PMO.

Job Requirements:

  • Hands-on project delivery experience
  • Working knowledge of Oracle Methods
  • Knowledge of corporate policies, consulting business practices, sales and bid process, tools, risk identification, evaluation and mitigation
  • Experienced in drafting and/or reviewing consulting proposals/contracts
  • Exposure to SaaS services delivery
  • Experience with the project review process
  • Create, maintain and deliver bid and project review related training
  • GBU experience is desirable
  • PMP/RMP certification is highly desirable
  • Some travel may be required


Determines and/or implements Corporate/local pricing policy.

As a member of Global Risk Management organization, you'll be responsible for review high complexity unsolicited bids, review high complexity solicited bids, lead global project or program reviews, participate in acquisition reviews, be an advisor for bid, project managers and Consulting. Lead the development of programs, policies or tools, engage global bid reviews, generate/evaluate risk management statistics, conduct teaching (PDW, other).

Acknowledged authority within the Corporation. Provides leadership and expertise in the development of new products/services/processes, frequently operating at the leading edge of technology. Strong written and verbal communication skill. Ability to work under tight deadlines. Self starter able to prioritize given responsibilities. 10 to 12 years of consulting or risk management experience. Ability to communicate effectively. Ability to work independently. Ability to work with systems and tools. Proficiency with three estimating method. Typically bachelor degree in Business or Engineering or equivalent. Desire post graduation and PMP certificate.
