Retail Sales Associate/Merchandise Manager For Dance Competition

On Point National Dance Competition is a New Jersey based company that produces amateur dance competitions for youth ages 4-18 across the country. Our company is currently seeking a dynamic and outgoing personality to greet our customers and attendees and to assist them with merchandise sales. The selected team member will demonstrate strong organizational skills and be able to administer every detail of his or her duties so precisely and smoothly that everyone in attendance is only aware of the fun they are having!!

As the most accessible member of the On Point team, the Merchandise Sales Associate interacts the most with competitors and their guests. It is imperative that their experiences are positive! He/She will have a ready smile and a willingness to assist and answer questions for all On Point attendees. Ideally, the Merchandise Sales Associate should have retail experience. He/She must be proficient in managing cash and credit transactions honestly and accurately. This candidate will also possess the ability to make sure all merchandise is presentable and secure. The position will also include a variety of other duties including setting up/breaking down each event.

Applicants must be at least 18 years of age and based in/near Detroit, MI with the ability to travel February through May. Work weekends may include a Thursday departure and a Monday return. The Merchandise Sales Associate will have a valid driver’s license and their own reliable transportation to On Point’s Detroit meet point.

• Ability to work long hours in high-stress theatrical production environments
• Capable of standing for hours at a time

• Previous retail experience – past dance convention/competition experience is very helpful!
• Physically able to lift/lower equipment for load-in/load-out of truck and for set-up/break-down at each event
• Located within a reasonable driving distance of Detroit, MI
• May be responsible for driving company van, paid for by On Point

This position is a part-time, seasonal, 1099 contract job. Please do not apply unless you are available all of the following weekends – including Thursdays and Mondays:

• May 13-15 - Lansing, MI
