Retail Construction Merchandiser - Fixture & Sign Installation (Travel Required)

Pet Food Express is looking for a detail oriented and efficient Retail Construction Merchandiser to join our highly collaborative and fast-paced Visual Merchandising Team. Reporting to the Visual Merchandising Manager, the Retail Construction Merchandise is responsible for fixture installations in a retail environment for both new stores and existing store remodels. In addition, this position will include installation of interior signage and the execution of small scaled "refresh" construction and basic handyman projects.

What You’ll Do:

• Lead fixture installations for both new and existing store remodels and maintain schedules to ensure deadlines are met
• Installation of Lozier pallet-racking and gondola fixtures and interior signage
• Execution of small scaled construction projects requiring basic carpentry skills
• Direct people in the field to ensure all projects are complete with timeliness and quality standards
• Coordinate with Construction, Facilities, and Real Estate to ensure fixture installation is completed
• Schedule installation phases and days with Construction Project Coordinator
• Install graphics and banners inside and outside of stores
• Assist with displays when necessary including moving product.
• Administrative duties such as completing and submitting (web-based) accurate and timely reports, recaps, timesheets, expense reports, monthly forecast etc.
• Interact with vendors and team members in an efficient, professional manner
• This role is a road warrior and requires extensive travel (50-75%) and work in the field throughout California

What You’ll Bring:

• 2 years applicable experience preferred
• Willingness to work both overnight and day shifts
• Excellent communication skills and a highly-collaborative working style with the ability to interact with all levels at the company, including our stores with good internal customer service
• Knowledge, understanding and accurate application of fixture installation and merchandising processes
• Experience installing Lozier fixtures
• Possess skills to complete handyman projects requiring the use of tools
• General knowledge of various types of equipment including forklifts, electric pallet jacks, and gondola movers
• Ability to multi-task while interpreting a variety of instructions in written, oral, diagram or scheduled form
• Self-starter with the ability to work with little or no supervision
• Must be proficient in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Willingness and ability to travel throughout California with flexibility to work different hours including early morning, late night and weekend work.
• Must possess a Valid CDL and be able to drive a 24’ Bobtail with a gross vehicle weight rating of 25,000 pounds
• Must be able to pull, push and lift materials up to 50 lbs. and complete labor intensive duties for 8+ hours
• Willingness to go above and beyond to get the job done
• Clean driving record and the ability to successfully pass a background check post offer of employment
