Position Title: Server

Immediate Supervisor: General Manager

This job description is a record of the basic purpose, typical level of authority, typical scope of action and associated functions or duties of the job. The description is designed to provide management and others with an understanding of the level of the job, its working relationships, skill and identify the essential and additional work requirements.

Purpose of Position:

To provide prompt efficient and courteous service to our guests

Duties and Responsibilities:

Maintain a neat and clean personal appearance adhering to IHOP and Mr. Stax Inc uniform standards at all times

Be aware of station assignments

Greet guest with a smile and seat guests with menus in the Host/Hostess’ absence

Clear extra place settings and take drink orders

Introduce yourself to the guests and describe any specials

Deliver drink orders, pour coffee and ask guests if they are ready to order their meal

Take meal order, use suggestive selling technique when appropriate, repeat back the meal order to guest to eliminate errors

Input meal order into the computer system for cook to prepare, total check

Serve any soups, salads, beverages, condiments etc.

Garnish food order, serve to guests and leave guest check on the table

Call back at each table to make sure everything is satisfactory to the guest

Pre-bus table by removing plates from guests when finished.

If absence of the Host/Hostess and with the General Manager’s authorization, take payment (cash, credit card, gift card) at register, ring check before making change, thank guests and invite them to return

Assist Combo and Host/Hostess as needed

Handle guest complaints with concern and courtesy. Report all complaints to the General Manager

Assist in maintain cleanliness of tables and seats. Clean as you go at all times

Roll silverware as assigned

Make coffee as necessary

Complete assigned side work and have checked before leaving work shift

In the absence of the Host/Hostess, answer phone with proper greeting and take messages accordingly. Use good phone etiquette

Work cooperatively with all restaurant personnel

Adhere to all Labor Laws and company guidelines

Follow proper company safety procedures

Follow any other procedures and duties as assigned

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $100.00 - $200.00 per day
