Zeppelin is looking for an Accountant to manage all financial transactions, property-related accounting, human resources, and operational support as needed, variable expenses to bank deposits and budgets. Accountant responsibilities include auditing financial documents and procedures, reconciling bank statements, and calculating tax payments and returns, payroll, and familiar with tip rec as well as Aloha POS system. To be successful in this role, you should have previous experience with bookkeeping in a restaurant environment and a flair for spotting numerical mistakes. Alongside other members of the leadership team, the Accountant will uphold all required corporate standards and foster an environment that allows for the highest level of hospitality to all guests, internal and external.
Responsibilities
- Manage all accounting transactions
- Manage all restaurant people functions such as new employee onboarding, scheduling, payroll, and tip payout procedures
- Publish financial statements in time
- Audit and sign-off of all timesheets weekly, review and generate tip payroll weekly, and ensuring compliance with all federal statutes regarding tip reporting. Ensure all true-up on minimum wage are correct
- Monitor and ensure that W4 processing, benefit review, and food/beverage certification have been completed for all new associates.
- Develop, implement and train employees on a clear list of standard operating procedures.
- Reconcile accounts payable and receivable
- Ensure timely bank payments
- Supervise and manage all aspects of office support for the Restaurant
- Investigate and resolve guest requests or complaints regarding billing, while making independent judgments about proper resolution with minimal supervision.
- Audit financial transactions and documents
- Partner with key members of restaurant leadership by advising and contributing to the planning of daily, monthly, quarterly and annual operational revenue and expense budgets
- Responsible for identifying and resolving any cash losses or cash/credit balancing errors.
- Comply with financial policies and regulations
Skills
- Minimum 2 years of experience in restaurant, hospitality, or financial management
- Excellent knowledge of accounting regulations and procedures, including the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Hands-on experience with accounting software, and Aloha POS system
- Advanced MS Excel skills including Vlookups and pivot tables
- Experience with general ledger functions
- Strong attention to detail and good analytical skills
- BSc in Accounting, Finance or relevant degree
- Strong attention to operational and administrative detail

Pay: $34,872.00 - $65,000.00 per year
