Position DescriptionRedhorse Corporation has a need for a Resource Efficiency Manager (REM) who will work onsite at the customer's facility at military installations in the San Diego, CA area to provide comprehensive energy management services to reduce energy costs and consumption, enhance energy resilience and security and help counteract climate change.Primary duties will focus on:
- Conducting energy audits,
- Energy project planning,
- Identifying and implementing energy conservation measures,
- Energy data analysis,
- Identifying and developing projects to enhance energy security, resilience and mission assurance,
- Supporting electrification of vehicle fleets, including supporting infrastructure,
- Supporting de-carbonization of utility plants and systems,
- Enhancing connectivity of base facilities and creation and expansion of microgrids
- Improving the energy and water efficiency of the installation
Minimum Qualifications for Skills, Experience, Education and Credentials include:
- BS in engineering or energy-related field.
- Six (6) years of experience in energy and facility management or engineering.
- Strong knowledge of utility information systems, metering, mechanical and lighting systems, and federal energy requirements and programs.
- Experience with energy auditing, project development, life-cycle cost analysis, and building/facility operations.
- Understanding of project programming, funding, and implementation at Department of Defense installations.
- Experience supporting the development and implementation of energy efficiency and renewable energy projects using alternative financing mechanisms, including ESPC, UESC, and PPAs.
- Previous facilities management and engineering experience working at Marine Corps, Navy, or other military facilities is a plus.
- Certified Energy Manager (CEM) certification required.
- Well-developed verbal and technical report writing skills.
- Working knowledge of standard office computer software (e.g. Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
- US Citizenship is required.
- REM must be able to support multiple tasks ranging from data collection and analysis to support of multi million dollar projects.
- REM is a problem solver who identifies and helps resolve problems affecting efficiency, security, resilience, billing and other energy operations.
- Hands-on knowledge of electrical and mechanical building and utility systems, knowledge of advanced metering infrastructure, ability to analyze large datasets to identify anomalies, meter errors, trends and problems and take corrective action.
- Must be able to walk through areas with industrial equipment and processes.
- Must be able to lift 10 pounds on a periodic basis, bend, stand, climb and walk.
- Must be able to work safely in moderately noisy environment.
- Must have a valid State issued driver’s license; candidate may be required to operate personal vehicle
