Position Information

Primary Purpose of Organizational UnitThe UNC Adams School of Dentistry Office of Discovery, Innovation and Research is to provide the infrastructure, support and resources for the Adams School of Dentistry to become the global model for research, discovery, and innovation within the oral and craniofacial basic, applied, and clinical sciences, including the areas of oral health services, policy, and education.
Position SummaryThe Research Technician will be responsible for conducting various laboratory experiments under the supervision of a Research Specialist. The researcher’s primary responsibility will be to carry out the goals of research project associated with SARS-COV2 infection. These goals will necessitate that the selected candidate perform clinical research recruitment, consenting, sample collection and data collection/recording. In addition, this position will be expected to perform several immunological assays including but not limited to multiplex ELISA, real-time PCR, western blot and flow cytometry. The selected candidate will also collect and record data as specified in developed protocols as well as assess accuracy, validity, and integrity of data. In addition, the research technician will contribute to the organization of the laboratory by helping keep accurate inventory, restocking laboratory supplies and assisting with maintenance of lab equipment. The selected candidate will be expected to have clinical research experience, immunological assay experience, the technical knowledge to be trained to perform the duties, the ability to follow instructions through a standard work process, the ability to perform routine and repetitious tasks, and the ability to observe, monitor, collect, and record data.
