Job Description
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Conducts a variety of research experiments using basic molecular and cellular biology methods and advanced research techniques; including performing serological, cellular, and molecular immunology techniques such as ELISA, ELISPOT, Flow Cytometry, as well as immunohistochemical analyses using cancer patient biospecimens. Must be able to read and understand scientific data being applied to conduct the research.
  • Under supervision of the PI, assist with animal experiments mainly harvesting tissues for analysis.
  • Coordinates project activities to meet deadlines.
  • Collaborates with the Principal Investigator in the development of new experiments and research techniques. Incumbents are expected to stay apprised of the literature as well as practical skill sets relevant to the field.
  • Assists in the implementation of standardized protocols for experiments and training purposes; create and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) specific for each study.
  • Assists the Principal Investigator with publications by extracting and compiling moderate to complex research data (i.e. related to oncology, immunology, microbiology, etc); assisting in interpreting the data; reviewing and editing articles used in scientific publication. Must have strong science background.
  • Ensures compliance with safety and regulatory requirements.
  • Performs other related duties.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • BA or BS in a related science or equivalent skills and experience and a minimum of 4.5 years of related experience is required
  • Previous experience with protein purification, standard and automated, inclusive of cloning, expression validation and purification required
  • Master’s degree in the biological sciences and/or additional laboratory experience is preferred
