Sales - SalesThe Research and Proposal Specialist is a part of the Group Insurance Employer Business Segments division. The Proposal Specialist be accountable for managing and executing Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and Requests for Information (RFIs) for our Premier/middle market customers (100-4,999 employees) working with our Sales and Account Management teams — and may assist Sr. Proposal Specialists with proposals as needed. This will include effectively writing clear, concise, client focused, and compelling responses that effectively position Prudential's group insurance products and employee benefit solutions to address customers’ needs. This professional will typically work independently within the team and collaborate with business partners, including Sales/Account Management, Underwriting, and Subject Matter Experts across the company to ensure a high-quality, personalized RFPs.
This role has no formal supervisory responsibility.
Responsibilities:
- Manages proposal intake process for the broader team.
- Understands relationships with Strategic Producers, owns assigned firm templates, and leads assigned firm standard RFPs.
- Develops working relationships with sales/account mgmt. and UW associates aligned to their assigned proposals to prioritize and deliver quality RFP responses for the less complex requests.
- Focus on the Low/Med chances of winning business with less complexity.
- Develops custom proposal content through adapting boilerplate content and collaborating with Sales/Account Management, Underwriting, Marketing, and other subject matter experts to deliver high quality RFP questionnaires.
- As needed, supports Premier Sr Research & Proposal writers.
- Communicates and coordinates effectively with other members of the Proposal Unit and GI to ensure timely completion of all proposal documents.
- Exercises judgment in applying procedures or addressing unusual problem situations
- Supports process improvement activities as well as other projects.
- Assesses issues and coordinates resolution with other members of the organization.
- Identifies and escalates complex issues as appropriate.
- Uses project management skills to ensure all deliverables are completed on time.
Qualifications
- 3-5 yrs. financial services business experience or related
- Foundational knowledge of group insurance products/group insurance experience a plus
- Knowledge of Outlook, Microsoft Excel, and Word
- Project management experience a plus
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Team player, creative, organized and detail oriented
- Ability to manage multiple priorities
- Flexibility and responsiveness to change
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
- Bachelors degree or equivalent work experience preferred
- Previous proposal or like experience
- Association of Proposal Management Professionals (APMP) certification a plus or willingness to get certified
- Note : Prudential is required by Colorado law to include the salary range for this role when hiring a Colorado resident. Salary range specific to Colorado: $61,600-8,500 + discretionary incentive bonus + benefits. Eligibility to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program is subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance. In addition, employees are eligible for standard benefits package including paid time off, medical, dental and retirement.
