Job Description
Summary

The Research Operations Associate position on the Human Genome Sequencing Center's (HGSC) Quality Control team will apply expertise in the area of genomic sequencing analysis of clinical samples for clinical sequencing projects. These projects are highly visible and impact the national reputation of the HGSC and of Baylor College of Medicine.

Job Duties
  • Updates LIMS, sample tracking, summarizez data in an appropriate format, and reports to the team manager.
  • Provides documentation associated with QC test results.
  • Writes SOPs.
  • Performs the daily autoanalysis QC of the NIH All of Us project.
  • Troubleshoots and investigates any QC issues found.
  • Ensures compliance with all CAP/CLIA guidelines.
  • Prepares weekly reports on the progress of the project (to be used for grant progress reports, etc.).
  • Prepares and maintains clinical QM reports that are compiled every month and reported quarterly to the clinical director.
  • Oversees data quality of multiple projects in the production pipeline, specifically in Capture and RNASeq platforms.
  • Presents weekly updates of projects to senior staff and project collaborators.
  • Informs laboratory management of inventory needs to ensure uninterrupted sample processing.
  • Follows CAP- CLIA rules and regulations.
  • Daily QC of NovaSeq pipelines.
  • Collaborates with the HGSC LIMS systems team for data testing.
  • Prepares and maintains Grant level data gathering and report generation.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • Two years of relevant experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in biological science or equivalent.
