Research Assistant (Part-time) for Department of Psychology, Georgetown College - Georgetown University

Established by Georgetown College in 1967, the Department of Psychology is an intellectually diverse community of scholars engaged in research addressing psychological processes and social issues. The Research Assistant - in a part-time role - is involved in recruiting and testing participants for a new grant-funded study of monolingual and bilingual young children. They will be trained to run eye tracking and memory flexibility, studies and collect data in the field and to work on the collaborative PLAY study. Supervised by the Principal Investigator (PI), and working closely with the PI's Research Program Coordinator and current Ph.D. student, the Research Assistant has duties that include but are not limited to:

Participate in field visits alongside undergraduates, graduate and other research personnel to visit families
Assist in the collection of data in the filed
Assist in the office in the collation of data in a timely manner
Perform administrative duties, including preparation of materials for families and maintenance of records
Participate in in team meetings

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree from a 4-year college

Preferred qualifications

Spanish speaking skills, due to the DC metropolitan area's growing Spanish speaking population, and to the fact that data are collected in the home and that the study examines differences between monolingual and bilingual children
Current driver's license
Research experience working directly with young children
