Job Description
The Department of Health Policy and Management seeks a Research Assistant to support a variety of research projects for the Geiger Gibson Program in Community Health Policy. The position is based at GW’s Foggy Bottom Campus in Washington, DC. This role typically works under immediate supervision, and the primary job functions do not require exercising independent judgment.

Responsibilites Include:


  • Format research briefs, blogs, infographics, and other publications for online publishing.
  • Conduct literature reviews
  • Extract/scrape online data.
  • Provide administrative and logistical support, including scheduling interviews, organizing documents, and creating usable transcripts from Zoom recordings.
  • Complete other logistical, research assistant-level tasks to support the major deliverables of projects.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned. The omission of specific duties does not preclude the supervisor from assigning duties that are logically related to the position.
Minimum Qualifications:

Qualified candidates will hold a BA/BS in a related discipline. Degree must be conferred by the start date of the position.

Additional Required Licenses/Certifications/Posting Specific Minimum Qualifications: Preferred Qualifications:
  • Current MPH student preferred
  • Experience formatting research briefs, blogs, infographics, and other publications for online publishing
  • Experience with Microsoft Publisher or other publishing applications preferred
  • Experience conducting literature reviews
  • Ability to extract/scrape online data
  • Ability to provide administrative and logistical support, including scheduling interviews, organizing documents, and creating usable transcripts from Zoom recordings
  • Outstanding organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent writing and communication skills
  • Ability to juggling multiple tasks
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to enhance their effectiveness in interactions with various stakeholders
  • Willingness to learn and work both independently and within a project team
