Job Description

Westat is an employee-owned corporation providing research services to agencies of the U.S. Government, as well as businesses, foundations, and state and local governments. Westat's research, technical, and administrative staff of more than 2,000 is located at our headquarters in Rockville, Maryland, near Washington, DC.

Job summary:
Westat is seeking qualified individuals to work with multidisciplinary research teams on a variety of research projects focusing on health care quality, patient experience, patient safety, and health care delivery.
This is a remote work eligible position.

Job responsibilities:
  • Supporting data collection, data submission, and data intake.
  • Conducting quality control checks on data and reports.
  • Performing data management and manipulation using MS Excel spreadsheets.
  • Producing infographics and other data visualization products to effectively present data/results.
  • Responding to and tracking technical assistance phone calls and e-mail communications and producing reports on technical assistance provided.
  • Supporting content updates for websites.
  • Developing agendas and supporting internal and external meetings, webinars, and large conference calls involving clients, experts and stakeholders.
  • Writing meeting or call notes and managing follow through of action items.
  • Assisting in project-related public communications activities.
  • Assisting with qualitative research interviews, taking notes, and analyzing qualitative data.

Basic qualifications:
  • A bachelor's degree in social sciences, public health or a related field.

Preferred qualifications:
  • Research project experience in a health-related field.
  • Experience working with data and MS Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, attention to detail, and strong interpersonal skills.
