What we’re looking for:You're a hands-on DevOps Engineer ready to join the DCOE’s Engineering team. Your primary responsibilities include infrastructure design and development of the DCOE’s AWS platform. In addition, you’ll provide insight to cross-functional colleagues (e.g. Architecture, Development, Product, UX, Security) about technical requirements and limitations encountered as development meets infrastructure.
What you will be doing:As a DevOps Engineer in the team, you will work with a team of DevOps Engineers to support software development; where automation, IaaS, security, and resiliency are paramount. Your primary focus will be on building and maintaining an infrastructure for a multi-site development team including source code repository, release tools, scripts, packaging, and deployment tools.
You will own customer facing/production infrastructure as well as Development, QA, and Staging environments. In addition to the basics listed above, this also includes monitoring/alerting, vulnerability management and patching, automation, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and representing/working with other departments to ensure we’re supporting the business in a scalable manner to support the growing consumer base. We love innovation, and support efforts that provide automated systems for the purpose of 99.99% uptime.

Basic Qualifications:
- BS in Computer Science or related fields, or equivalent experience
- 2+ years experience in a Cloud DevOps Engineering team
- 5+ years AWS experience
- Experience with AWS security best practices.
- Experience working with a DevOps team of infrastructure engineers in a 24x7 environment.
- Held a prior role with responsibility for high scalability/availability systems, security, and systems support in a heterogeneous infrastructure environment.
- Experience with Shell, Python and Golang.
- Experience with Terraform, and CloudFormation.
- Experience with Kubernetes.
- Experience with continuous integration tools such as Gitlab and Jenkins.
- Experience with configuration management tools such as Ansible, Puppet, or Chef.
- Experience with CloudWatch, Datadog, ELK, Grafana, Zabbix, other open source/cloud ready tools.
- Experience with implementing disaster recovery, capacity planning, monitoring/alerting of availability/performance, and log aggregation and event management systems.
- Proficiency in TCP/IP networking architecture and other core network technologies (DNS, HTTP, Routing, Firewalls, Load Balancers, etc.).
- Familiar with both SQL and NoSQL technologies such as MySQL, MongoDB, Redis.
- Familiar with Agile processes and DevOps manifesto.
