Medical City DallasRegistered Nurse (RN)Inpatient Rehabilitation – RehabSchedule: SeasonalSeasonal PRN Program Runs 8/16/2020 through 4/24//2021$54.00/hour base pay$2,000.00 Completion Bonus18 week CommitmentWeekend and Holiday Requirement12-hour schedules, Minimum 36 hrs/wk and minimum of 72 hrs a pay period PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS

  • Completion bonus to be paid after the successful completion of 18 consecutive weeks of employment while meeting all shift requirements during that time period. Only one (1) completion bonus will be paid per 36-week season.


  • All seasonal RNs are required to work a minimum of 72 hours per pay period during the seasonal period.


  • Within a close geography, you may be asked to float to another facility that has an emergent staffing need.


  • Four (4) weekend shifts are required each 4 week schedule period.


  • During the course of the 18 week period, the employee is required to work two (2) holiday shifts (defined by Department Manager or designee).


  • Seasonal Staff are PRN status employees and are subject to first call-off. There is no guarantee of hours by the hospital.


  • Seasonal Staff will not be eligible for benefits, except 401(k) and retirement contribution per the PRN policy.


  • Registered Nurses who are in the Seasonal program will have one opportunity to pass the clinical competency evaluation.


  • Shifts may vary based on the needs of the department

The Registered Nurse, Inpatient Rehabilitation will perform direct patient care within the scope of the Registered Nurse Practice Act, with emphasis on nursing process /outcomes for the Inpatient Rehab Unit.

  • Implement nursing care within the RN’s scope of practice, including compliance with other laws that apply to the practice setting.
  • Develop and implement teaching plans for patients concerning promotion, maintenance and restoration of health.
  • Provide education, emotional support and age specific care to foster a partnership with the patient and significant others.
  • Provide for the care of multiple patients (individual and family) either through direct care or assignment and/or delegation of care to other members of the healthcare team.
  • Evaluate the patient’s (individual and family) responses and outcomes to therapeutic interventions.

Qualifications

Qualifications:Education
  • BSN required within 24 months of hire
Experience/Licensure
  • Minimum of 1 year recent acute care hospital experience within the last 3 years
  • Experience in Post-Acute Inpatient Rehabilitation is preferred.
  • Experience utilizing the Patient Assessment Instrument (IRF-PAI) preferred.
  • Advanced Certification in Inpatient Rehab Nursing CRRN preferred within three years of hire.
  • TX RN License or Compact License
  • BLS required by the American Heart Association
