About This Role:The Regulatory Compliance Engineer ensures that products are compliant with the published and required regulations. S/he understands the purpose, requirements, and trends of regulations, and administers compliance and certificate programs for current and future products. Demonstrates behavior that is consistent with the company’s values of Customer Satisfaction, Innovation, Family, and Social Responsibility. Essential Job Functions/Tasks:1. Administers compliance and certificate programs for current and future products. 2. Works with certifying agencies to ensure product conformance is achieved and maintained. 3. Understands regulatory trends and keeps current with new regulations. 4. Reviews and updates compliance documents. 5. Generates declarations to certify the compliance of Hunter products. 6. Supports Marketing and Sales in assessing existing and/or designating future certifications. 7. Supports various engineering groups to help develop tests that simulate actual certification testing. Other Job Functions:Performs other related tasks as assigned, some of which may become essential to the position. Hunter Industries’ approach to the health and safety of each employee is based on adherence to our Injury and Illness Prevention Program (IIPP). Every employee is responsible for their safety and must work safely at all times. Employees are to immediately report all unsafe or hazardous conditions, including injuries and near misses to their Supervisor, Environmental Health & Safety Department, or Workers Compensation Manager. Those employees who do not comply with safe work practices may be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination. Education/Training Required:Bachelor’s degree in Engineering a plus; Electrical Engineering preferred. Experience Required:Minimum three years of experience in a similar engineering role. Experience working in compliance, and third party agencies for certification and audit of products is a plus, and hands-on experience with mechanical and electrical troubleshooting techniques related to compliance issues is preferred. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSA’s):KSA #1: Excellent attention to detail, time management, and organizational skills. KSA #2: Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills. KSA #3: Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English. KSA #4: Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to interface with all levels of employees, vendors, and customers. KSA #5: Skilled in mathematical and statistical techniques. KSA #6: Able to travel to test sites, customer locations, suppliers, and trade shows. KSA #7: Knowledge of test equipment and procedures, such as oscilloscope, power supplies, environmental chambers, HALT/HASS chambers, etc. KSA #8: Knowledge of manufacturing methods and product assembly. Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSA’s):KSA #9: Strong project management skills. KSA #10: Experience with testing of electronic products especially for EMC and RED. KSA #11: Experience with product risk assessment. KSA #12: Knowledge of international regulations. Physical Demands:Ability to sit to use a computer and attend meetings. Ability to work in a variety of positions (bending, kneeling and crouching) to gain access to the lower areas of machines in the facility. Ability to climb stairs to gain access to upper levels of the facility. Ability to carry material, fixtures, tools, equipment weighing up to 60 pounds. Finger dexterity sufficient to use standard measuring equipment and a computer. Visual acuity sufficient to use standard measuring equipment and a computer, and to read written material. Work Environment:Various inside locations with varying temperatures and floor surfaces.
