Job Description

Fulltime - 36 hours a week - Days

Pay range is between $29.07 - $36.34/hr, depending on years of relevant and like experience. +$2.50/hr for weekend shifts.

POSITION SUMMARY

Provides professional nursing care through assessment, planning, intervention and evaluation. Meets the needs of the patient, family and interdisciplinary team through communication, coordination, evaluation, and service excellence. Care is provided to all ages with problems ranging from simple, non-urgent to complex, life-threatening conditions. All documentation tracking and aftercare is electronic and computer-based.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

Education or Formal Training

1. BSN Degree preferred.

Special Qualifications (Licensure, Registration, etc.)

1. Colorado RN License in good standing.

2. BLS Certification.

3. ACLS Certification or completion within 6 months of hire.

4. ACLS Certification required when floating to units where ACLS is required

5. NIHSS certification required by 5/31/18 for current staff and within 6 months of hire for new hires.

Experience

1. Minimum 3 years of inpatient nursing experience.

2. Critical care or ICU experience desirable.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Promotes a patient safety culture and participates with other departments in achieving core measures, evidence and best practice.

2. Promotes service excellence.

3. Supports and ensures compliance with hospital, division, and departmental policies.

4. Familiar with organization, department and job specific environment of care policies, including, life safety, utilities management, hazardous material communication, emergency preparedness, infection prevention and medical equipment failure.

5. Meets the skills of the Registered Nurse job description.

6. Implements interventions based on the Plan of Care, priority of patient’s needs and desired outcome, guidelines/standards of care, and agency policies and procedures.

7. Evaluates practice in relation to professional standards, statues, regulations, hospital and departmental policies, and standards of care.

8. Practices proper HIPAA compliance and performs other duties as assigned.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES

1. Physical working environment may include, but is not limited to any of the following; hazards; chemical, electrical, mechanical, bio-waste, radiation, stress, back strain, body fluids, etc.

2. Environmental conditions may include, but are not limited to, variations in temperature, noise, odors, multi-stimuli, etc.

3. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to constantly stand and walk. The employee is frequently required to stoop, crouch and twist. The employee is occasionally required to kneel, squat and sit.

4. The employee must be able to consistently support, push, pull and/or lift up to 30 pounds, support, push and pull and/or transfer up to 50 pounds (for example, moving a patient from a wheelchair to a bed).

5. Functional physical demands include manual dexterity, fine motor skills and reach. The following senses will be needed for essential duties of the job: speech, vision, hearing, smell and touch.

6. Rotating between Foothills and Broadway campus is an expectation of the position.
