Aurora Mental Health Center (AuMHC) is seeking a Full-time Registered Nurse to work 40 hours per week, Monday – Friday (Saturdays are an option), with flexible hours based on client need. Preferred candidates have previous experience working with teens/adults with severe and persistent mental illness and substance use disorders.
We offer a generous sign-on bonus and benefits.
$4,000 Sign On Bonus Available! *Not eligible for internal and PRN candidates.
Based on full time (40 hours/week). Prorate if less than 40 hours/week. Paid in two installments: 50% on first paycheck, 50% on paycheck following 6-month anniversary.
Salary for this role. wage is based on licensure and company equity.
- $32.21 - $38.77 hourly
Bilingual Language Differential Pay. *rate depends on language requirements for the position and candidate's fluency.
- 10% of base salary up to a maximum of $6,000/year
About the team.
The Ascent Program (First Episode Psychosis) is an evidence-based treatment modality which offers community-based support to youth and young adults for up to five years. We provide intensive wraparound mental health care to individuals aged 15-29 who are in the first 24 months of psychosis. Our program is guided by a shared decision-making approach which encompasses a multidisciplinary care team of psychiatrists, clinicians, case management, peer support, supported employment/education, and nursing.
About the role.
The Registered Nurse on the Ascent Team is responsible for delivering outstanding clinical/nursing care for persons living with a primary psychotic disorder, primarily schizophrenia. This role is very unique and offers autonomy, flexibility, and creative approaches to best meet the needs of clients and their families. Meeting with clients in their home environment sets a great foundation for rapport building, trusting relationships, and long-term recovery. All Ascent staff share the same caseload; we are highly collaborative and are in constant communication with one another to ensure staff support and client continuity of care.
Responsibilities:
- Support the clinical functions of the medical team (completing all medical orders and communicating vital patient care information to physician/prescriber.)
- Perform nursing interventions for which an RN/LPN has been trained to do.
- Observe, identify and monitor condition of patient, including changes in symptoms, and relates same to appropriate members of the treatment team.
- Administer injections and medications, as required.
- Provide medical case management and other clinical interventions, as appropriate.
- Act as liaison to outside agencies and providers to ensure continuity of care for patients.
- Provide assistance in crisis intervention, as needed.
- In a timely manner, accurately and completely chart interventions, lab results, medications dispensed and all activities related to patient interactions according to organization's procedures.
- Complete required education and training in a timely manner.
- Provide information to credentialing, payroll, etc. in a timely manner.
- Staff member will monitor and coordinate care for assigned clients in partnership with the other members of the clients care team.
Requirements:
- Associates in Nursing required
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred
- Preferred: one year of relevant clinical experience.
- Certification, Licensure: Active State of Colorado Registered Nursing License.
- Ability to administer medications and injections.
- Effective communication and coordination skills.
- Effective organizational skills.
- Effective problem solving skills.
- Ability to take directives
- Basic computer skills and ability to learn/utilize electronic health record.
Required Vaccinations.
