Registered Nurse - Cardiovascular Stepdown

Our patient population primarily consists of cardiovascular (CV) surgery patients including, but not limited to: coronary artery bypass (CABG), transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR), mitra-clips, thoracic endovascular aortic repair (TEVAR), and various thoracic surgery patients.

Key characteristics of our unit include: Bi-weekly multidisciplinary education sessions, entirely private patient care rooms, competitive nurse to patient ratios with 3-4:1 for both day and night shift, highly trained resource and charge nurses proving support on every shift, highly involved management team consisting of clinical director, unit supervisors, and patient care navigator providing consistent training and education and ensuring robust support.

Requirements

At least six months of Registered Nurse clinical experience in the acute care setting.

• BLS for Healthcare Provider certification required.
• RN licensed, or eligible to practice in the Commonwealth of Virginia as an RN.
• Accredited School of nursing.
• BSN or AD
• If RN has an AD, within 6 months of start date the RN must meet with their nurse leader and

o Identify which Accredited School the employee plans to attend
o Submit a review of transcript from the school indicating the required pre-requisites and timeline for taking the courses
o Provide a written plan with anticipated BSN completion date.
o Complete BSN within 24 months of start date
