We are looking to hire an experienced Regional Sales Director in our Northwest territory with outstanding vision to develop a strategy to build this incredible territory. You'll be joining a world class sales team. The ideal candidate will be a seasoned and motivated sales professional capable of leveraging their business relationships to build this territory to its fullest. This is a unique opportunity to play a significant role in driving sales using proven sales techniques for a fast-growing and innovative start up. Territory includes: WA, OR, UT, ID, CO and candidates can live in any location within 50 miles of a national airport.
What You'll Do
The Regional Sales Director will execute a sales process including prospecting, lead generation/qualification/follow-up, and order closing focusing on maximizing value for Soft Robotics. This will be supported by Marketing and Sales Operations.
In addition to identifying End User customer prospects, the Regional Sales Director will be responsible for cultivating relationships with Automation System Integrators and managing and driving business through a distribution channel. This will be done by:
- Calling on end-users, automation integrators and authorized distribution partners in the territory
- Scheduling and managing distributor and integrator events (Open Houses, lunch and learns, and your own ideas)
- Working alongside talented Application Engineers to drive proof of concept development and application design comfortability for end-users, partners, and integrators

Requirements
- Sales professional that's accountable and behavior-driven to achieve achievable numbers
- Creative entrepreneur with the ability to build a territory through proactive prospecting and lead generation
- Strong leader, able to sell into multiple channels including Automation System Integrators, Distributors and Direct Accounts
- Self-Starter with unyielding ambition and drive with a “fearless can-do attitude”
- Hard working and organized professional, able to keep control of the varying sale cycle and always establish expectations
- Knowledgeable expert, able to ask hard questions and problem-solve to a technical audience
- Business person that knows when to involve key stakeholders and executives into the process
Additional Qualifications:
- AS or BS in any technical discipline including mechanical, electrical, chemical, industrial, physics etc preferred
- Experience selling in the industrial automation industry required
- Minimum 3+ years of selling experience with proven track record of achieving or over-achieving quota
- Experience with the daily use and administration of SalesForce.com or other Customer Relationship Management (CRM) tools
- Enjoys working in an agile, fast-paced, startup environment. Ability to wear multiple hats
- Independent, self-starter - able to set agenda and drive progress with little direction
- Possesses critical thinking and decision-making, analytical problem solving, business astuteness, and process orientation skills
- Superior organization, attention to detail, and communication skills
- Ability to work with teams at all levels of the organization. Collaboration is exciting to you and you enjoy understanding the perspectives of others
- Highly respected and approachable. Ability to be agile, tenacious and maintain a sense of humor
- Experience working with small to mid-sized startups is a plus
