The right candidate needs to have a deep knowledge base learned through years of education and clinical work. This position requires working with clients, to assist the client-nursing facilities in providing the very best in-patient care and efficient operations. Our consultants are learned, dedicated and compassionate, and bring a unique skill set to help advice their client-facilities.
Position: Full-time Regional MDS Nurse Consultant (RN)
Resposibilities: Consults with our skilled nursing facilities in the Chicago Land - Illinois area.
Expectations: The Regional MDS Nurse Consultant (RN) will provide ongoing consulting services to the MDS and Restorative Nurses as well as the MDS Interdisciplinary Team by providing teaching and education to ensure accuracy of MDS coding and capturing all applicable aspects of care delivered and continued compliance of the Resident Assessment Instrument (RAI) guidelines, time frames and procedures.
The Regional MDS Nurse Consultant (RN) reports to the Chief Clinical Reimbursement Officer.
Pay: $3,000 SIGN ON BONUS & competitive salary, benefits package, and incentive program provided.
This position requires travel in Illinois and some overnight stays may be required each month.
Job Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in multi facility oversight in the long-term care industry
- Associates Degree in Nursing or higher is required
- Must be a licensed RN in the state of Illinois and in good standing
- MDS 3.0 Certification preferred, but not required
- Restorative Certification preferred, but not required
- Experience using Point Click Care Electronic Health Record System is preferred, but not required
- Must have a strong knowledge of state and federal regulations that govern skilled nursing facilities
- The candidate must be proficient in the RAI MDS 3.0 process, Patient Driven Payment Model Reimbursement System, RUG-IV 48 Medicaid Reimbursement System, Restorative Nursing, ICD-10, Quality Indicators/Measures, the Five-Star Rating System, TN Department of Health Regulations and experience with MDS Case Mix Audits and Time Weighted Reports (Myers and Stauffer)
- Strong Analytical Skills and System Development are key to our success with proven ability to maximize reimbursement as well as the overall quality of care of the residents
- Must have a valid driver’s license and current auto insurance liability policy
- Be able to effectively work with teams at all levels
- Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Able to analyze and solve problems
- Ability to resolve conflicts in a positive and constructive manner
- Ability to prioritize and concurrently manage multiple tasks
- Ability to work with and supervise others as an effective leader and team player
