Summary:
Responsible for direction, implementation, reporting and compliance of rehab services for assigned facilities focusing on budgeted objectives, customer relations, and clinical service delivery. Must possess and maintain thorough understanding of current and proposed reimbursement systems that drive both acute and post-acute care providers. Thorough understanding and relentless curiosity of the evolving health care environment and therapys role in fostering and supporting facility census, accurate data collection for MDS case mix index and RUG accuracy, patient and community/facility satisfaction and supporting the facilitys strategic initiatives. Skilled at discerning needs and interests of customers.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Fiscal Management
- Thorough understanding and implementation to meet budgeted objectives.
- Review all activity reports and provides suggestions for modifications to standard reports that reflects the evolving industry and needs of the customer.
- Directs resource utilization (labor, education, analytics)
- Maintains customer base
- Supports business development team in SNF growth objectives
- Establishes reimbursement directives for formulating annual SNF budgets.
Clinical Management
- Program development to support facility admissions/census management initiatives
- Directs through LHS support personnel the clinical practice expertise of the department.
- Assures therapy education and any nursing education provided by LHS personnel meets evolving facility census growth strategies.
- Informs LHS support personnel regarding essential, non-negotiable orientation/training criteria of LHS direct care staff to meet Company, State and Federal standards
Operational Management
- Post-acute care subject expert to customer.
- Is proactive in both internal and external marketing efforts to increase and improve patient census and census mix: this includes networking events, community education and direct face to face contact with referral sources.
- Oversee coordination of rehab department and facility staff to plan and implement therapy programs.
Human Resources Management
- Works with the LHS HR department as necessary on personnel issues related to hiring, retention and performance.
- Builds the necessary team to deliver on the essential duties and responsibilities stated in this job description.
- Effective relationship builder (customers, clients, employees and supervisors).
Other
- Informs LHS of future resource requirements to remain current and competitive in the SNF therapy environment
- Demonstrate professional conduct and ethics in accordance with LHS policies and procedures.

Qualifications/ Education:
To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below illustrate the knowledge, skill, or ability required. - Preferred clinical background as a Physical Therapist (PT), Occupational Therapist (OT), or Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP). Therapy Assistant (PTA, COTA) will be considered with Bachelor’s degree and proven track -record with in Legacy clinical operations.
- Minimum of five years’ supervisory experience in therapy management.
- Experienced with multisite management and frequent travel.
- Minimum of a Baccalaureate degree from accredited college or university or equivalent experience (i.e., degree in PT, OT, SLP or the equivalent).
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Assigned Multi- Site managers or Rehabilitation Directors.
Licenses:
- Licensed and registered (PT, OT, SLP, PTA, COTA) in state(s) where assigned, if applicable.
