Position Overview
Specializes in performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on HVAC equipment and Refrigerated equipment. Also performs new equipment installs to new locations when they open and replaces exciting units as needed. Performs assigned repairs, emergency and preventive maintenance. Completes maintenance and repair records as required. Responds quickly to emergency situations, summoning additional assistance as needed. Reviews historical maintenance records to develop proactive inspection, testing and preventive maintenance schedule. Operates company vehicle in a safe manner and follows prescribed routines to service locations in a timely manner. Performs other duties as assigned.

General Duties and Responsibilities
  • Maintain a safe work environment; work in a safe manner following all safety Policies and wear Personal Protective Equipment as required
  • Maintain critical HVAC and Refrigerated systems in good working conditions
  • Performs compressor and HVAC system change-outs when needed, i.e., package units & split systems, when required. Lubricates fans, motors, bearings, and control units
  • Maintain accurate records keeping of equipment and systems to be ARB compliant at all times
  • Provides the Office Manager with all paperwork for any refrigeration leaks so that they are reported to California Environmental Protection Agency website www.arb.ca.gov/rmp-r3/
  • Perform preventive maintenances and maintain critical spare parts inventory for the HVAC and Refrigerated systems
  • Work independently and make sound judgments regarding work methods and tools. Proactively support the Corporation, Stores, Departments and Personal goals and objectives
  • Coordinates assigned activities with his coworkers and the store directors, as needed. Assist in the selection and monitor the performance of outside contractors and vendors
  • Ensure all stores are supported to meet business needs with working equipment, including: Refrigerant i.e., R404A, R507, etc., preventive maintenance, equipment service and safety equipment
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable regulatory agencies including FDA, CA FDB, OSHA, DOH, EPA, Fire Department, city audits, Health Department, etc.
  • Maintain your Technical Training Profile current with no delinquent notices
  • Ability to work safely in an environment containing hazardous chemicals, high and low temperature liquids, high pressure liquids and gasses, steam, and moving machinery
  • Able to work after hours and on call as needed; weekend shift support and shutdowns
  • Receive and deliver vendor delivered supplies to appropriate store for installation
  • Ability to monitor and respond to emailed and telephone calls that are sent and made the office staff
  • Able to keep records of his/her Gas card and company credit card and is able to turn in all paperwork into the Office Manager in a timely manner and complete as required by ownership
  • Maintain a good driving record and a current drivers license at all times
  • Operates the company vehicle safely and keeps up with the routine maintenance of the vehicle
  • Maintains the company cellular devise is good working condition and must use it effectively to communicate with the stores, the office staff and the management team
  • Accomplishes maintenance and organization mission by completing related results as needed

Required Education and Experience
  • Must exhibit a responsible, professional, and positive attitude towards the job
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays
  • Must have at least 2 years of Refrigeration and HVAC repairs experience
  • Must be able to work at all Vallarta locations within a reasonable commute of home
  • Must be able to use electronic communication effectively to answer calls and emails
  • Must be able to document ability to legally work in the US
