Referral Specialist-FT-John B. Amos Cancer Center-Columbus

The Referral Specialist ensures that all referrals are managed effectively and efficiently for JBACC. Provides high level customer service to both referring physicians as well as referred patients. Is responsible for coordinating and completing inbound (calls, emails, faxes, etc.) referrals received from physicians requesting services within JBACC for multiple providers. Coordinates appointment scheduling linking pre-registration and consult appointments. Responsible for obtaining and entering registration data, acquiring and verifying all data required to complete the referral process adhering to established timelines and departmental procedures. Ensures that insurance verification is completed prior to scheduling patient appointments.

Experience Three years experience in insurance verification in a hospital registration area or physician's office. 1 years' expereince working in Medical/Radiation Oncology.

Education High school diploma or equivalent.
