General Summary:
The Recruiter is responsible for developing strategies to target and recruit the ideal candidates using a variety of tools and techniques. The person in this position will become a Partner with department managers to correctly identify their immediate and future workforce needs. The Recruiter is responsible for screening applications, performing interviews, appropriate background checks and making offers of employment. This position also ensures that the recruitment and employment activities are in compliance with federal and state regulations and organization policy and procedures.
Main Responsibilities:
- Develop strategies to target and recruit the ideal candidates using a variety of tools and techniques
- Design, build and implement innovative recruitment programs
- Internal referral program with longevity bonus
- “By position” recruitment networking
- Integrate with area and nationally recognized academic institutions
- Maintains organization staff by establishing a recruiting, testing, and interviewing program; offering flexible solutions for the hiring process; counseling managers on candidate selection; conducting and analyzing exit interviews and implementing changes as needed;
- Prepares employees for assignments by establishing and conducting orientation.
- Become a Partner with department managers to recruit and fill their needed positions
- Screen resumes ensuring potential applicants for future open positions
- Ensure that all applicants are appropriately routed through web-based applicant system
- Maintain and update web-based applicant system daily
- Schedule and pre-interview all candidates, providing feedback to hiring manager(s)
- Prepare and extend offers to select candidates, both verbally and by offer letter
- Monitor job posting sites both internally and externally
- Initiate and follow-up with background checks (criminal and reference) and ensure compliance with the drug free workplace policies
- Collaborate with Marketing to develop ads and ensure to post in a timely manner for open positions
- Participate in job fairs and networking opportunities
- Maintain resume and candidate pipeline for future hires
- Coordinate with agency and search firms as needed
- Provide candidates with information on HMG’s benefits
- Frequently assess the recruiting strategies to identify areas needing improvement
- Ensure that recruiting and employment activities are in compliance with federal and state regulations and organization policy and procedures
- Maintain governmental reporting and compliance records as needed (EEO, DOL Surveys)
- Prepare reports as needed
- Escalate issues to the appropriate level as needed
- Maintain high level of confidentiality
Education/Experience/Knowledge:- BS degree in Human Resources preferred
- 3-5 years experience in Human Resources/specifically in recruiting
- Knowledge of HR Laws required
- Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills required
- Strong organization skills and the ability to successfully manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment
- Excellent computer skills and prior knowledge of HR systems
Physical/Mental Demands:Combination of walking, sitting, standing, bending, reaching, and lifting. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Occasional stress from balancing multiple tasks.
