Job Title: Portfolio Management (Data Analytics and Reporting), Associate / Analyst. Job Description & Responsibilities: This professional will join Blackstone Real Estate’s Portfolio Management team in New York to successfully deliver on critical portfolio management projects related to reporting, data analytics and technology re-engineering. The scope of the role includes projects across all real estate strategies (opportunistic and core+). Due to the relatively small size of the professional staff, the associate / analyst will have the opportunity to assume an integral role on the team. Specific responsibilities will include:
  • Working with large data sets to deliver timely and accurate reporting materials to support and facilitate oversight of the global real estate portfolio
  • Coordinating and executing on quarterly, monthly and ad-hoc tasks and workstreams; developing and maintaining project timelines and management updates
  • Interacting with internal stakeholders to coordinate and synthesize data and analytics from across the real estate portfolio
  • Automating and streamlining processes, identifying opportunities for process improvements as well as documenting business requirements for reporting
  • Executing data migration, reconciling, and validating migrated data and reports
  • Training and working directly with offshore teams
  • Acting as a liaison between the portfolio management, technology, and finance teams participating in and contributing to shared projects
  • Acting as a system superuser helping others to leverage systems more effectively and establishing best practice system processes
Qualifications: Blackstone seeks to hire individuals who excel in a team-based environment, are highly motivated, intelligent and have excellent judgment. In addition to strong analytical and project management skills, the successful candidate must have:
  • 1+ years of professional relevant experience in tech augmentation, business analysis, project management and/or portfolio reporting; real estate experience is preferred
  • The ability to effectively work as an individual contributor and possess strong analytical, problem solving, critical thinking and decision-making skills.
  • The ability to multitask and deliver under tight deadlines; the candidate is a self-starter that thrives on complexity and solution finding
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills (Excel, PowerPoint and Word) and working proficiency in advanced data analytics tools (VBA, DAX/PowerQuery or Python) is required
  • Working experience with the following is preferred:
    • Portfolio reporting systems (iLevel or Voyanta)
    • Property management systems (Argus Enterprise, Yardi)
    • Debt management systems (Chatham Financial)
    • Business modeling tools and data visualization and BI tools (Anaplan, Tableau, Power BI)
  • The candidate is expected to have experience building and working with large data validation files (Pivots, V-Lookups) as well as some experience of building macros
  • A demonstrated ability to write and communicate effectively and summarize large amounts of information succinctly and quickly
  • A desire to work in an international team environment, often under pressure and with multiple stakeholders
  • Superior attention to detail, resourcefulness and ability to work autonomously
  • The highest degree of integrity, motivation, and intellectual curiosity
