Job Description
Job summary:
The Re-entry Coordinator will have significant responsibility for the implementation of the Reentry Program at Set Free Alaska. They will work closely with clients enrolled in the program providing wrap-around services to support clients who experience barriers because of a criminal history as they re-enter life outside the confines of imprisonment.
Qualifications:
Required:
- Associates degree in human services or a minimum of four (4) years’ experience in a related field
- Ability to:
- Pass a drug screening and State of Alaska background check
- Qualify for SFA’s commercial automobile insurance
- A current valid driver’s license
Skills required:
- Great written and verbal communication skills
- Punctuality reporting to work and in delivery of direct services
- The ability to:
- Work as a team member including accepting and providing supervision
- Establish and maintain clear therapeutic boundaries
- Build report with clients, staff and the community
- Basic computer skills including internet navigation and fluid use of electronic communication tools
Job responsibilities:
- Assist potential clients in the completion of the intake packet, connect clients to resources necessary to complete the intake process, notify clients of acceptance
- Provide re-entry services, including:
- Preparing clients for release
- Advocacy with SUD counseling, housing assistance, accessing public benefits, and other case management needs
- Assisting clients with job prep, job training and job search
- Support in navigating their supervision
- Coordinate with service providers and facilitate access to services in the community which promote the physical, mental and spiritual health of the client
- Establish and maintain an active list of resources available in the community, and foster working relationships with providers of those services
- Remote work at local correctional facilities, in the community as well as work at the main office
Supervision:
- Re-entry Coordinator will receive direct supervision from the Associate Clinical Director
