Abbott is seeking to hire a Business Analyst to join the Abbott Business Office RCE Governance team. This individual will be responsible for managing and supporting the capital expenditure process for the IT Infrastructure Services organizations.

The Business Data Analyst will function as a business partner to the IT Business units on financial matters such as budgeting, forecasting, variances analysis & reporting, capital projects and other related financial requests. The analyst works in the month-end closing activities, consolidates data and prepares presentations as requested.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

Perform life cycle management for the request for capital expenditure (RCE) process which includes creation, forecasting/tracking, spend, and RCE closure. The role entails the governance and financial support enabling process standardization, capital and operating cost administration and containment. The individual will also be responsible for preparing financial presentation content for executive meetings, participate in various projects or tasks, assist with monthly financial closing activities, as well as preparing financial models, ad hoc analysis, and presentations supporting the quarterly LBE (latest best estimate) forecasting cycles.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE YOU’LL BRING

Required

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, business administration or another discipline relevant for the healthcare industry or equivalent experience.

External candidates:

3 years previous finance experience.

Internal candidates:

2 years Abbott finance experience.

Preferred

  • Strong project management skills, including program/project management governance.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products, in particular Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
  • Proficient in software applications like SAP
  • Strong analytical skills
  • High level of communication skills, both oral and written
  • Experience with vendor management.
  • Automates and improves financial planning processes.
  • Provide recommendations for process improvements in reporting and analysis.
