This 1st shift Quality Technician position will be located in our Plant 4 Thermatech Operation in Whitehall, MI.
As a Quality Technician, the responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Efficient preparation, evaluation & overview of product/paperwork to certify shipments.
- Interpret customer requirements and prepare documents in support of MRB submittal.
- Validate quality system compliance and perform product audits.
- Collect and prepare statistical data reports.
- Interpret customer contractual requirements in support of shipments/MRB.
- Final decision on product quality.
Basic Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED from an accredited institution.
- Minimum of one-year experience performing quality tasks in a manufacturing environment.
- Successfully meet the standardized Pre-Visor testing requirements. If applicant has worked as a technician at Howmet in the past 10 years or possesses a minimum of an associate degree, testing is not required.
- Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
- This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) which requires U.S. person status.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience as Quality Technician, Inspector, or Quality Auditor in a manufacturing environment.
- PC experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Familiarity with scientific quality tools.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to utilize customer web sites to upload data/review results.
- Must be energetic and a self-starter, able to promote and implement change, have good PC skills, good telephone skills, strong organizational skills, and ability to promote a continuous improvement atmosphere.
- Resolve and provide clarity to work instructions
- Experience partnering with engineers on special products.
- Designated Supplier Quality Representative (DSQR) experience
- Experience working in Metallurgical Laboratory (MET LAB) a plus
- Proficient in Oracle Applications
