POSITION SUMMARY:
The Quality, Safety and Environmental Supervisor will provide QSE support to the Nolanville plant. This role may also p rovide support to other Texas plants and terminals and participate on the audit team.
RESPONSIBILITIES & EXPECTATIONS:
Responsible for compliance with MSHA regulations including employee training, delivery, and documentation:
- Maintain records in accordance with company/location policy.
- Support all accident and incident investigations for facilities in area of responsibility.
- Assist Health and Safety with reports to Workers’ Compensation and monitor Workers’ Compensation claims.
- Assist Health and Safety in the completion and submittal of any company, local, state or federal agency reports.
- Provide the necessary documentation to Corporate Safety and Plant Managers to demonstrate proper employee training.
- Train employees on relevant procedures, practices, and regulations.
- Support site contractor audit process.
Safety Program:
- Participate and be a leader in Plant and Regional Safety projects and supporting efforts.
- Perform routine inspections of site and equipment.
- Coordinate safety incentive programs and audit for consistency.
- Develop a system to periodically review and audit health and safety programs.
- Work with Regional EHS Managers to coordinate site trainings.
- Perform and assist in the development of Job Safety Analysis and work with site managers to develop safe and compliant work procedures.
Quality Program:
- Manage and maintain the quality inspection and product release programs for incoming and in-process materials and components, processes and finished goods.
- Monitor performance by gathering data and producing statistical reports.
- Evaluates returned product and reports findings to department impacted.
- Support Safe Quality Food (SQF) initiatives and awareness programs.
Environmental Program:
- Coordinate maintenance of environmental control systems as required to ensure continual compliance with Local, State and Federal regulations, Title V permits and with LNA policies and procedures.
- Coordinate collection and analysis of environmental samples and monitoring information as required to ensure continual compliance with Local, State and Federal regulations, permits and with LNA policies and procedures.
- Lead root-cause-failure-analysis of spills, control equipment malfunctions, unplanned discharges, excess emissions as needed.
- Help implement programs, including training, as necessary to ensure compliance with LNA, Local, State, and Federal environmental requirements
- Maintain knowledge of applicable LNA, Local, State and Federal environmental regulations and requirements.
- Coordinate, accompany, communicate and follow-up with Local, State and Federal inspectors and officials.
Compliance programs and best practices:
- Provide front end input for safety and compliance on all capital projects, equipment or process changes.
- Ensure compliance and maintenance of company/site Industrial Hygiene program.
- Create best practices for safety protocol implementation and follow up.
- Actively participate in audits for regulatory, quality, safety and environmental compliance at the site
Responsible for the facilities’ Safe Food initiative based on FSMA and Current Good Manufacturing Practices.
Perform other duties as assigned.

- Knowledgeable of state and federal laws, regulations and agencies (MSHA, OSHA, DOT), the regulatory process, and the procedures for obtaining information is preferred.

- Must have strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint software.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
- Must be physically able to perform work assigned.
- Must be physically capable of accessing all plant locations.
- Tolerate working outside in severe weather conditions as well as exposure to industrial high temperature, noise and dust.
- Access all areas within a site which could include heights of 200 feet, confined spaces, climbing ladders or stairs, and accessing tunnels.
- Will be working in an office environment, mining, and mineral processing environment.
- The employee will be exposed to the following working conditions: Extreme Heat and Cold, Noise, Vibration, Oils, and Atmospheric Conditions such as Dust, Fumes, and Metallic Particles.
- The employee will be required to perform the following actions (from time to time): Standing, walking, balancing, stooping, kneeling, reaching, talking, seeing, hearing and sitting.
- Able to lift up to fifty (50) pounds.
- Up to 50% travel will be required driving between Nolanville and Crawford and occasional audit team travel.
REQUIRED EDUCATION:
- BS degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental, Engineering, Chemistry, Natural Science, or other related technical degree, and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum of three (3) years professional management experience in industrial safety, quality and/or environmental
