Quality Inspector

• Perform visual inspection of printed materials for defects, such as loose, torn, or wrinkled pages, missing staples, incorrect bindings, incorrect book cases, and warped laminated paperback covers.
• Perform samples selection, taking random samples of publications from machine or table and examine the product for a variety of possible defects such as ragged edges, torn or wrinkled pages, incomplete cuts, incorrect bindings, smeared or blotched colors, dirt on the product, and any other visual defect that is out of specification.
• Follow inspection checklist and record any identified defects.
• Ensure that the products meet quality conformance specified by the customer.
• Prepare written reports and provide notification to manufacturing management of know or found defects.
• Crosscheck production paperowork, handpick and pack product
• Communication information to others in a professional manner
• Perform activities to process defective materials according to procedures.
• Maintain a clean work environment in keeping with 5S standards
• Position is temporary - 8 months

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Must have the ability to read, understand, and carry out verbal and written instructions
• Must have basic computer skills and be able to navigate via a PC through RRD production systems.
• Must be flexible to work overtime and some weekends.
• Must be self-motivated, detail oriented with high quality standards and strong organization skills.
• Must have a high degree of dependability. Must be able to work independently as well as in a team
• Must be able to lift 35 lbs and to stand for long periods of time, with or without an accommodation.
