Independent, physician-owned GI practice looking for endoscopy center Quality Coordinator RN. The endoscopy center is an independently owned outpatient ambulatory surgery center which specializes in colon cancer screening as well as a number of other endoscopic procedures including endoscopy, Interstim Bowel Control Therapy and Orbera gastric balloon weight loss therapy.

The Quality Coordinator is an RN who is responsible for maintaining quality assurance, risk management, OSHA, infection control, emergency preparedness and life safety. Will update and maintain policy and procedures for these programs and monitor ongoing regulatory changes. Responsible for overseeing control and compliance of all state and federal regulations including accreditation and licensing requirements. The coordinator will have occasional patient care duties in the endoscopy center including covering "float" position as needed. Works collaboratively with the Medical Director, CEO and ASC Nurse Manager. Provides support to staff, patients, physicians and outside vendors.

  • Compiles QI data on a continuing basis and serves as a member of the QI Committee.
  • Oversees compliance with regulatory agencies (i.e., AAAHC, State DHHS, DEA (State and Federal), OSHA, CLIA.)
  • Assists with developing, reviewing, and revising policies and procedures for the endoscopy center.
  • Acts as the Infection Control Nurse for the endoscopy center.
  • Initiates protocols for post-exposure follow-up.
  • Maintains personnel records for the staff as required by AAAHC.
  • Credentials and maintains up-to-date files for all physicians and CRNAs.
. Requirements:
  • Registered Nurse, currently licensed in North Carolina. SGNA certification preferred.
  • Previous Infection Control experience preferred.
  • Previous knowledge of AAAHC and state licensing required.
  • Current BLS training. ACLS certification preferred.
  • Minimum of one (1) year experience in ambulatory surgical procedures.
