William A. Hazel, Inc., a total site development contractor for over 50 years, is looking for a Quality Control Manager. The individual in this position will be responsible for developing, presenting, and implementing the corporate quality control program and ensure that all work meets the standards of the contractual obligations.
Essential Functions
- Develop, present, and implement corporate quality control program
- Inspect and spot check the projects in accordance with plans, specifications, and contract documents, reporting deficiencies as appropriate and elevating issues as needed to ensure safe work practices and acceptable quality levels
- Ensure that subcontractors are aware of all project quality control requirements on new projects
- Management and leadership of company rework tracking program and analysis of program to insure reporting consistency and program compliance
- Support the project staffs in planning for and conducting the three-phase inspection program to include: Preparatory Meetings and Reports; Initial Phase Inspections and Reports; Follow-up Inspections and Reports; and Final Phase Inspections
- Lead and document quality control meetings with the project teams and/or customers; and provide written minutes.
- Lead company QC training efforts
- If assigned to a project, perform routine quality control functions including providing daily quality control reports and any another QC functions contractually required
- Audit that verification and documentation processes for all materials & equipment being received for the projects are occurring
- Verify that all required code and independent inspections are occurring and being clearly documented, etc.
- Spot check project as-built drawings to ensure that they are current and that deviations from the contract drawings are annotated
- Communicate and interact as a team member with all Hazel construction staff, subcontractors, suppliers, and customer representatives, in a professional manner
- Develop project specific quality control plans as needed
- Participate in interview process of future QC program employees
- Represent Hazel as needed in regional industry events
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in construction management, construction science, engineering, or related field from an accredited university preferred Bilingual in English/Spanish is preferred.
- Current OSHA 30; First Aid/CPR; and USACE Construction Quality Control Management certifications; or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire.
- Exceptional communication skills (written and verbal); and ability to interact professionally with customers, coworkers, and subcontractors
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office.
- Exceptional organizational and time management skills
- Familiar with USACE RMS CM and EM-385-1-1
- Uncompromising commitment to safety
- Must be able to pass all required contract security and citizenship requirements.
- Minimum of 10 years experience with companies of similar or larger size and scope with at least five years in a QC role. Strong interpersonal skill both oral and written.

Pay: $120,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
