Job Description

Schaeffler, a global automotive and industrial supplier, is seeking a Quality Associate ll for Plant One in Cheraw, SC. The Quality Associate ll performs the quality tasks necessary to ensure that products meet customer and Schaeffler requirements. Key duties include but not limited to:
  • Assist Quality Manager and designees with resolution of customer issues: Containment, performs analysis of defects to include product measurement, gage set-up, and record reviews.
  • Provides guidance to operators regarding metrology, charting, record keeping, and control of non-conforming material.
  • Assists with set-up of floor and lab gages.
  • Coordinates Gage R7r studies.
  • Conducts process audits, including corrective action verifications.
  • Performs layout inspections for annual PPAP as required.
  • Coordinates segment deviations in SAP.
  • Collects data to support investigation of external customer complaints (QA) and supplier complaints (QB). Tasks may include organize supplier sorts and correspond directly with the supplier and segments.
  • When required perform layout inspection for launches.

Qualified candidates will have:
  • High School Diploma or a G.E.D. equivalent plus additional training or experience equivalent to an apprenticeship in recognized trade or occupation.
  • 3 years of direct or related experience.
  • Proficient in a wide variety of gaging techniques including stand measuring equipment, optical comparators, form-measuring equipment, surface finish analysis.
  • Understands proper set-up and mastering of this equipment.
  • Able to read and interpret blueprints including Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing.
  • Proficient in Microsoft business software applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, Powerpoint_
  • Understands statistical process control technique such as Gage Repeatability and Reproducibility Studies and control charts.
  • Familiar with problem solving methodology.
  • Familiar with quality system policies and procedures.
