The Quality Assurance Process Improvement (QAPI) Manager has a unique opportunity to employ their clinical nursing expertise in a new way outside patient care while collaborating with healthcare professionals and advocating for patients' well-being. The QAPI Manager (RN) is responsible for developing, implementing, and directing activities aimed at continuous performance improvement. This role serves as a consultant and change agent in administrative and clinical practice related to adherence to regulations and assesses and directs compliance with federal, state, and accrediting body regulations, as well as HNCO policies and procedures. The QAPI Manager (RN) leads the team by planning and facilitating education in order to ensure the organization meets its compliance goals.

What You'll Be Doing:
- Leads, develops, implements, and maintains an effective, ongoing organization-wide, data-driven quality assessment performance improvement program (QAPI) and fosters high-quality patient care services
- Reviews programs and initiates quality improvement review and intervention
- Evaluates HNCO services and employees using measurable outcomes and objectives
- Maintains documents and records according to protocol requirements and state, federal, and accrediting body health care standards
- Develops and promotes programs for continuing staff support, in-services, and education
- Informs the Leadership team of current organizational, community, and regulatory updates and trends
- Ensures that standards of ethical business and clinical practice are maintained
- Assures complete medical records for compliance with regulatory agencies
- Collects, analyzes, and oversees data entry on relevant quality performance indicators and utilization of services and demographics
- Monitors and evaluates the appropriateness of performance improvement plans and practices
- Designs, schedules, and conducts quality review audits as appropriate to the agency; performs or coordinates chart and/or other medical record review
- Generates and/or coordinates the development of various reports regarding performance against quality indicators as appropriate to the position
- Participates in the planning, development, coordination, and presentation of specific training and educational programs as appropriate to the quality assessment performance improvement program
- Collaborates and consults with other associated facilities regarding current quality control issues and activities
- Serves as chairperson for Quality Council and reports to the Executive Director/Governing Board
- Assists the Compliance team and is responsible for compliance-related duties
- Abides by hospice rules, policies and procedures, and applicable laws and regulations
- Reports promptly any suspected violation of compliance standards to the Executive Director
- Acts as a superuser for the EMR system by leading system updates and enhancements, assisting staff with technical issues, and coordinating tech support
- Adheres to HNCO payroll, billing, and documentation policies and procedures
- Performs administrative tasks and participates in professional development activities
- Initiates and participates in HNCO quality assessment performance improvement initiatives and activities
- Performs all other duties as assigned
Experience and Education:
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing (BSN preferred)
- Three to five years of home care and/or hospice experience
- Strong knowledge of Home Health and/or Hospice regulations
- Experience in a Medicare-certified agency preferred
- Current licensure to practice nursing in the state of Ohio
- Current CPR certification
- Valid Ohio driver’s license with current automobile insurance
- Reliable transportation accessible for travel while on HNCO business
