Quality Assurance Inspector
An employee in this position will be certified to inspect and check parts to ensure compliance with documents, standards and customer requirements with limited oversight.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Visually inspect or check parts using a variety of precision measuring instruments.
- Check dimensions and finishes against sketches, blueprints, manufacturing planning and specifications.
- Interpret and follow written instructions, sketches, weld schedules, drawings and documents.
- Perform all work in accordance with established standards and safety procedures.
- Perform detailed first article inspections.
- Train others.
- Recommend modifications to inspection procedures.
- Requires certification and stamp as Quality Assurance Inspector.
- Work under limited oversight.
Required Skills
Required Experience
Skills and Experience:
- Requires fundamental knowledge of inspection procedures and tools.
- Capable of inspecting a broad variety of parts.
- Requires a general knowledge of company specific manufacturing processes.
- Reads and understands manufacturing planning, sketches, blueprints, and specifications as necessary to perform the job function.
- Basic knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T); knows where to find this information at Exotic, and asks for help when necessary.
Working Conditions
Use of protective equipment such as safety glasses as required to prevent injuries.
Physical Requirements
Performs physical activities that require considerable use of arms and legs and frequent movement of the whole body, such as climbing, lifting up to 50 pounds, balancing and handling of material.
