POSITION SUMMARY
Plans, directs, and/or coordinates the activities of the Purchasing Department, including supporting/development of departmental/company policy, Heavy Export Experience, ERP experience (able to modify BOM for accuracy) Hand on Manager.

Essential Functions Statement(s)
- Represents the company in negotiating contracts and formulating policies with suppliers
- Direct and coordinate activities of interdepartmental personnel engaged in buying, selling and distributing materials, equipment, machinery, and supplies
- Interview and hire staff and oversee staff training; assist in staff performance reviews and or performance improvement discussions
- Locate vendors of materials, equipment or supplies, and interview them to determine product availability and terms of sales
- Prepare and process requisitions and purchase orders for supplies and equipment
- Develop and implement purchasing and contract management instructions, policies, and procedures
- Maintain records of goods ordered and received in company’s computer software
- Participate in the development of specifications for equipment, product or substitute materials.
- Analyze market and delivery systems to assess present and future materials availability
- Resolve vendor or contractor grievances, and claims against suppliers
- Control purchasing department budgets
- Review, evaluate and approve specifications for issuing and awarding bids
- Review purchase order claims and contracts for conformance to company policy
- Administer online purchasing system
- Prepare reports regarding market conditions and materials/goods costs
- Arrange for disposal of surplus materials
- Formulate policies and procedures for bid proposals and procurement of goods and services
- Attend production/meetings, trade shows, conferences, conventions, and seminars to network with people in other purchasing departments for best practices
- Ensure and satisfy company goals & objectives, departmental compliance; represent the department in internal/external audits

SKILLS & ABILITIES
Education: High school graduate or General Education Degree; Bachelor’s Degree ( four year college or university) preferred
Experience: six to ten years related experience
Computer Skills: Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office tools; Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint, ERP experience.

Pay: $130,000.00 - $160,000.00 per year
