Starting Salary Range: $45,000 to $52,000 commensurate with education and experience
This is a full time, full benefitted, non-exempt position. Benefit package includes health, dental & vision insurance; life and LTA insurance (company paid); defined benefit contributory retirement plan with CalPERS, paid vacation and sick time, 14 paid holidays, education reimbursement, great working environment.
SUMMARY
Responsible for daily operations of Technology Store & Supply Department to include: hiring, training and scheduling staff, purchasing and maintaining inventory, maintaining assigned sales floor space, planned promotions, processing sales and overall performance of assigned areas. This position will also serve as part of the store management team including manager on duty and other responsibilities as assigned.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following, though other duties will be assigned as necessary.
1. Focus on financial goals/health of departments and assigned areas, including expenses, sales and income and overall performance.
2. Purchase and control resale inventory for computer, technology, hardware, software, peripherals, technical and school supplies along with any related products or assigned areas, while maintaining budgetary guidelines.
3. Lead student staff team to provide customer service for all current promotions, services, hardware, software/Accessories, and technical and school supplies. Supplies include all general supplies required as course material such as scantrons, art supplies, science, and environmental design.
4. Maintain useful knowledge keeping up-to-date with new products to help store remain relevant with changing school supply, technology and related sales trends.
5. Plan, execute and collaborate with others including marketing and campus partners on various marketing promotions designed to increase sales and/or awareness of products/services/offers and provided value to campus.
6. Maintain accurate inventory, stock keeping and financial/accounting practices; process timely paper work including returns to minimize markdowns and write-offs in an effort to maintain financial success. Conduct regular weekly inventories or when directed analyze discrepancies and report to immediate supervisor and/or Bookstore Director all findings and concerns.
7. Create and maintain positive working relationships with all of the various campus partners, vendors and peers.
8. Ensure all employees have up-to-date training including technology store staff that specific requirements and necessary/required certifications at all times.
9. Prepare, process, and submit purchase orders, invoices, credit memos and related documents timely and accurately.
10. Insure daily point-of-sale accounts receivable paperwork are accurately processed and submitted.
11. Utilize PRISMCore or any Bookstore/Foundation systems or methods to maintain accurate records.
12. Maintain safe and pleasant retail spaces, ensuring product are displayed neat, clean, and priced correctly at all times.
13. Ensure Foundation cash handling and credit card procedures are accurately applied for self and subordinate employees.
14. Closely observe and follow contractual agreements including academic pricing, maintaining required documentation and reporting. Insure that all changes are clearly communicated along with any potential impacts of changes are clearly communicated.
15. Serve as a member of the management team with some shared responsibilities such as store opening, closing and MOD.
16. Maintain valid driver’s license and ability to drive Foundation Vehicles (clear driving record).
17. Perform other duties as assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Directly supervise Supply & Technology Store assistants. Will hire, coach, train/on-board, plan assignments/tasks and discipline employees (when appropriate). Address complaints and resolve problems.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
Minimum 2 years’ experience in a buyer/leadership role of a University Tech center with at least one million dollars in average sales. Demonstrated experience in Tech center sales to both retail and institutional customers. Professional level of knowledge is needed equivalent to that which would be acquired by completing a 2-year college degree program (AA degree) or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Bachelors degree or higher preferred.
CERTIFICATIONS Maintain qualifying certifications including but not limited to the following:
a. Obtain Certified Apple tech and Apple sales staff certification for self and subordinates.
b. Apple GSX
c. General contracts
d. Others as assigned
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the public. Additional language skills are a plus.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT AND BENEFITS
- Full time, benefited, non-exempt position. Starting pay commensurate with qualifications. Hourly rate range $21.63-$25.00.
