Summary
- The Purchasing & E-Commerce Assistant is responsible for assisting the Purchasing Director in working closely with each location to develop a site-specific action plan to engage customers, drive gross margin and promote the company brand.
Essential duties and responsibilities
eCommerce:
- Manage products by posting and selling product on our internet selling platform
- Communicate with locations on shipping sold product to customers and internal transfers a timely manner
- Maintain and organized workflow, work space and warehouse
- Communicate with customers to make them happy and maintain positive customer ratings
- Work with locations to maintain timely logistical operations of shipments
- Keep track of inventory levels
- Creating reporting for accounting and Purchasing Director
- Monitor and maintain competitive pricing
Purchasing:
- Assist the Purchasing Manager with creating items, purchase orders, tracking orders, sell through and pricing for the Pro-Shops and Boat Service
- Assist in making sure that we have the right product at the right time in all of the Pro-Shops and Service locations
- Assist in identifying poor performing items and work with Purchasing Manager on an exit plan for those items
- Running and communicating reports to the stores as directed by Manager
- Work local events when directed by Manager to help improve sell through of inventory
- Boats shows, Wake Contests, etc.
Other:
- Any other task required by Manager
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies:
Accounting and Analysis: Ability to read and understand financial statements, budgets and forecasts and act on the data. Knowledge of accounting and finance principles involved in bill paying.
Humility: Ability to honestly and openly communicate any mistakes or mishaps made and have the ability to learn from them.
Organization: Ability to simplify processes, organize tasks, data, and files to help improve overall efficiency
Communication: Able to interact professionally with colleagues, clients, and company personnel, able to clearly and effectively communicate information both orally and in writing
Training: Able to clearly document company procedures and policies and train staff and employees on these company procedures and policies
QUALIFICATIONS

- Education/Experience: Associates Degree in Business or related field (Bachelor’s preferred).
Minimum 2 years’ experience preferred
- Computer Skills: Advanced Microsoft Office experience required. Experience with Counterpoint preferred.
