Southern Industrial is looking for a Purchasing Coordinator for our office Raleigh, NC.
Position Summary:
Facilitates Company operations by purchasing or approving the acquisition of goods and services. Responsible for ensuring that the Company receives the best service and pricing to complete our operations in a timely and cost-effective manner.
Duties:
- Compile material quotations for Project Managers
- Enter and process all Raleigh Business Unit POs through SIC’s accounting system (Average 20-30 per day)
- Purchase material and equipment for Project Managers, SIC foremen and site Safety Managers
- Research and recommend implementation of new vendors
- Quote, reserve, and set up delivery of rental equipment to each jobsite
- Maintain purchase order logs for order tracking and future reference
- Assist Tool Managers with the purchase of materials, equipment, and rentals
- Work with SIC Safety to quote and purchase safety equipment and personal protective equipment to meet our Company safety standards
- Research, quote, and purchase SIC vehicles
- Work with EMCOR Purchasing and Donlen through the vehicle purchasing process, including quotations, purchase approval, and delivery
- Code, approve and reconcile vehicle lease invoices
- Negotiate prices and pricing agreements with vendors in a continuing effort to save the Company time and money
- Assist SIC’s AP Dept. with vendor disputes
- Work with Management to manage the SIC fleet and make changes/improvements where needed
- Set up hotel reservations, car rentals, and flights for SIC employees and clients
- Arrange trucking for Project Managers
- Set up billing for Corporate Lodging
- Manage Enterprise rental program, including reconciling and approving invoices
- Assist Project Managers in contacting vendors to spec material from customer drawings
- Track purchases of material and equipment that are part of EMCOR’s National Agreements in order to receive incentives; submit quarterly reconciliation reports to EMCOR
- Work with EMCOR National Purchasing to set up EMCOR preferred vendors for SIC and to recommend vendors to the EMCOR plan
- Ensure companywide compliance with Corporate purchasing procedures
- Maintain updated listing of vendor contact information
- Maintain necessary files and documentation as required for control and audit purposes
- Other duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required
Associates Degree in Business or Accounting, plus two years technical purchasing related experience or equivalent education and experience required. Experience in the use of business software, such as: word processing, spreadsheet and email applications required. Must be professional, have good communication skills and possess the ability to work in a multitasked continually changing environment. Experience with purchasing material in the disciplines of mechanical, electrical, and civil preferred. Professional Certification as an Accredited Purchasing Practitioner - A.P.P., Certified Purchasing Professional – C.P.P., or Certified Purchasing Manager - C.P.M. or other associated certification is desirable, or the willingness to obtain such certification.
