Job Description
We are a wholesale company seeking a Purchasing Assistant for our Riverside location. Schedule will be Monday – Friday with the option for full or part time. Our location is a fast paced work environment. We are seeking a highly motivated and energetic individual that is a great self-starter and team player.
Duties to include (but not limited too):
- Follow all purchasing procedures and systems while contributing your expertise to the field with suggestions and ideas to grow our team/company.
- Maintain accurate inventory counts with proper subbing of product on orders, daily “hands on” counts, annual counts, etc.
- Identify any inventory control issues while correcting and communicating these to staff
- Maintain vendor accounts
- Monitor costs and negotiate rates/costs with new and current suppliers
- Seek out new vendors to help reduce cost and introduce new products to our company
- Control spending costs by not under or over purchasing product
- Create/Maintain RMA’s for vendor returns for defective, damaged, warrantied or incorrect product returns
- Placing/creating PO’s, confirmations of PO’s and watching increases in costs from confirmations
- International container PO’s and shipping/delivery
- Local pickup scheduling of product with company truck/vehicle (scheduling route, pickups, product, times, etc)
- Report to Purchasing lead and/or GM weekly on inventory counts, returns, backorders, etc.
Ideal candidate will possess the following skills/experience:
- Great communication skills – both verbally and written
- Great attention to detail
- Purchasing experience of 1+ years preferred
- Microsoft Office knowledge a plus
