The Florida Public Sector division of Colonial Life, an established leader in the employee benefits industry that’s been in business for more than 75 years, has an opening for a Public Sector Benefits Counselor to join its market-leading team in the Florida Keys area.

The Public Sector Benefits Counselor will be responsible for effectively and professionally representing Colonial Life during enrollments with our government clients' employees. S/he will consult with employees on concerns regarding their health benefits, as well as educate them on the financial peace of mind our product offerings can provide during an unexpected health event. Other duties may be assigned.

An intensive and in-depth training will be provided by our South Florida district office. Colonial Life provides all materials, brochures, business cards, and training. As noted, Florida 2-15 insurance license is mandatory.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Ability to facilitate the enrollment, ensuring that proper information/paperwork for all enrollments and new hires is collected, input electronically in a timely manner
  • Excellent follow-up skills in order to collect any missing information from clients and confirm underwriting memos
  • Test the enrollment database and check for errors prior to the enrollment
  • Attend the benefits counselor meeting prior to the enrollment
  • Access to a laptop and cellphone
  • Other duties as assigned
