Responsibilities:
Public Relations Specialists will perform a wide variety of communication and public outreach services for large scale permitting, planning and construction projects
- Development of public notices, press releases, project informational materials (fact sheet, FAQ, newsletter), signs, posters, newsletter in multiple media (print, online, presentation).
- Conduct stakeholder/business coordination and conflict resolution (in-person visits, phone calls, email); monitor and track inquiry and communication log.
- Coordinate mailing list development; create stakeholder email database.
- Coordinate with graphic designer to prepare collateral materials.
- Plan and staff open house events.
- Attend construction management meetings.
- Prepare press releases.
- Develop strategies for clients, develop cost proposals and interview for projects
The successful candidates have some prior experience with municipal agency programs, specifically, public relations activities for clients' capital projects
- Bachelor's degree in environmental, communications, public relations, marketing, land use planning or a related field from an accredited program
- Minimum of 4 years of professional experience
- Open to occasional travel
- Media relations skills and previous experience working with media outlets to develop and deliver key messages and manage content (news, events, crises, etc.)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with knowledge of AP style
- Strong attention to detail, analytical, conceptual, organizational and problem solving abilities.
- Service and client-oriented personality with the ability to handle multiple assignments at a time and meet set deadlines.
- Ability to understand and assist with the communication of largescale permitting and construction projects, and the necessary processes associated with such an effort
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
- Knowledge of Google and social media analytics, experience using social networking platforms and developing content in a business setting
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Attention to detail, ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
