Job Description

The Translational Pulmonary & Immunology Research Center (TPIRC) and the Southern California Food Allergy Institute (SCFAI) are seeking to hire a Public Relations Specialist . TPIRC and SCFAI are a nonprofit medical and research institute whose anchor focus is the treatment of food anaphylaxis.

TPIRC is a non-profit clinical care and research center that focuses on the development of cutting-edge, individualized treatment protocols for rare and orphan diseases utilizing comprehensive diagnostic tools and patient-driven research. Our treatment programs are one of a kind with unmatched success rates. Our team is rapidly growing and we are looking for new members to support our mission.

We are currently seeking a Public Relations Specialist who will be responsible for advancing the mission of TPIRC through implementing marketing strategies and creating meaningful patient experiences.

Responsibilities

  • Develop press releases, pitches, case studies, contributed articles, and newsroom content
  • Help maintain the brand, identity and reputation of the organization
  • Evaluate and monitor public opinion through listening to a variety of channels
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with regional and national media outlets
  • Arrange for interviews and other media and event appearances for the organization
  • Establish and maintain relationships with key media stakeholders
  • Track, evaluate, and share results for PR efforts

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing or related filed is required
  • Minimum 3 years of experience either in-house with a healthcare/technology organization or in a client and media facing position in a public relations agency
  • Excellent verbal and written English communication skills
  • Proven track record of media pitching resulting in media placements
  • Superior knowledge of MS Office Outlook, Excel, Word, Powerpoint
  • Working knowledge of public relations and social media software as Cision, Meltwater, and Hootsuite is a plus

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $52,000.00 per year
