Public Cloud Financial Engineer

Citi’s Enterprise Infrastructure Operations & Technology organization (EIO&T) is driving an innovative Cloud First strategy that works to optimize the IT environment, reduce complexity, and implement high degrees of automation to enable more agile application delivery. We aim to give Citi businesses a competitive edge by leveraging cloud scale architectures and enabling new infrastructure economics. EIO&T operates as a technology company focused on implementing scalable and innovative next gen technology solutions that will shape the future of global banking.

Responsibilities:

• Deliver the tooling and capabilities needed to enable our cloud financial management roadmap

• Implement cloud optimization business process frameworks in support of our globally distributed teams

• Engineer an automated payment and recovery process for public cloud cost actualization

• Develop budgeting and forecast modules to be used firm-wide

• Participate in projects to automate and scale reporting on key capacity metrics, supply chain performance, and growth drivers

• Define solutions to make recommendations to match compute supply with demand

Qualifications:

• Public cloud experience

• Proven experience in Cloud Cost Management

• Knowledge of Public Cloud offerings and consumption models

• A data-driven mindset, you believe the best decisions are made when they are backed by data

• Effective communicator with ability to drive consensus among stakeholders

• Experience with 3rd party cloud cost optimization tools (CloudHealth,Cloudability, etc.)

• Knowledge of AWS services, architectures, and tools (preferred)

• Experience with AWS billing and cost management tools and processes (preferred)

• Bachelor’s degree/University degree or equivalent experience

• Other advanced degree preferred, but not required

Engineering Basic Qualifications:

• Undergraduate degree in related field or equivalent experience

• 2-5 years’ experience building consumer facing applications

• Suggest methods and new technologies for increasing the effectiveness of changes and of general production support improvements

• Familiarity with Domain Driven Design and Event Driven Architecture

• Experience working with relational/NoSQL databases

• Experience working in a distributed, cloud-based environment using Azure/AWS/GCP (Docker/Kubernetes)

• Experience in developing software using languages such as Java, Python, C++ or Ruby.

• Experience with Service Oriented Architecture applications and cloud-based services, preferably AWS.

• Experience working with Linux/UNIX, Docker

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience as an AWS Solutions Architect, Cloud Security Certification, and/or OpenStack Administrator Certification a plus. (Other cloud-related certification also a plus.)

• Experience with TDD and automated UI testing frameworks

• Experience working with any design frameworks

• Experience with mobile web development

• Developer level operations proficiency — ability to set up a machine, knowledge of networking, familiarity with load balancers, hypervisors, CDNs,etc
