The Devereux Pennsylvania Children’s Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities Services (CIDDS) center serves children, adolescents and young adults – from birth to age 21 – with autism spectrum disorders, intellectual and developmental disabilities, and behavioral and emotional disorders. Each year, more than 1,000 children and adolescents receive specialized care, in the environment best suited to the unique challenges they face, all with the goal of providing each child with the academic, social, and emotional and life skills needed to flourish in their home community. CIDDS services include two Approved Private Day schools, community-based mental health services, community-based employment training and social skills training, therapeutic foster care and a full-time residential program.


Our treatment team, which may include psychiatrists, clinical case managers, nurses, teachers, licensed psychologists and clinical social workers, along with the family and child, work together to create a safety, stabilization and treatment plan that focuses on a successful discharge of the child back to his or her community, or lesser level of care. The majority of children stay at DCBHC between three days and 21 days. The stay could be longer based on the presenting symptoms.
We are seeking a PT Psychiatrist for 2 days a week-16 hours.
Responsibilities include:
  • Evaluates, diagnose and treat mental, emotional and behavioral disorders for children/adolescents in a Residential Treatment Facility
  • Determines appropriate course of treatment
  • Creates treatment plans
  • Prescribes medication as needed/necessary
  • Completes electronic medical records

Must have child psychiatry training if treating population 16 years and younger. Completion of an approved psychiatric residency program is required. Duty to immediately notify Executive Director or Human Resources in the event license, privileges or mandated certification is suspended or revoked.
EXPERIENCE: Completion of an approved psychiatric residency program is required. Psychiatrist working with child and/or adolescent clients must demonstrate relevant treatment competency through clinical experience, continuing education units and referral letters to support these specific skills. Strong organizational skills. Ability to manage multiple tasks and adjust to a flexible work schedule including nights and weekends. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Proficient computer skills and mastery of Microsoft Office applications. Valid driver’s license must be maintained in state of residence.Company Overview:
