The Role

We are currently looking for an individual to coordinate the proposal process for NECI’s Solutions Services that is aligned with local operational and company guidelines. The Proposal Coordinator will support the team in managing all proposal activities ensuring the compliance and integrity of all proposal documents. You will work both internally and externally with customers in providing quality and accurate proposals to ensure that customer success is the primary goal.

What You’ll Do

  • Prepare proposals to customers describing solutions while owning the proposal process ensuring that every member of the pursuit team, including sales leads, operational subject matter experts, pricing, solution team members know what is expected of him/her and when tasks are due.
  • Develop and update the proposal schedule
  • Responsible for quoting transactional opportunities and delivering those on an expedited basis.
  • Manage expectations on deliverables with Sales team and engineering.
  • Create the proposal responsibility matrix and schedule and keep track of proposal progress.
  • Write, edit, and format proposal deliverables.
  • Ensures customer (internal and external) questions/problems are brought to a swift and satisfactory resolution.
  • Will be responsible to contribute to the ongoing documentation of NECI processes and procedures.
  • Organize meetings with stakeholders as required.
  • Ensures full utilization of tools available to continually raise bar for accuracy of proposals and efficiency in their generation.
  • Prepare proposal requests out CRM for discussion prior to proposal meeting.
  • Provide sales support requests.
  • Assist in providing pricing estimates and budgets.
  • Manage vendor quotes in support of proposal activities.
  • Maintains competency on the current Emerson systems, products, and services.
  • Manages, organizes, and updates relevant data using NECI/Emerson database applications
  • Travel: (e.g.) 20% travel within the Greater Boston area

What You’ll Bring

  • B.S. Degree in Business or equivalent work experience is preferred
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) required.
  • Comfortable interacting with all levels and ability to adapt to different communication styles.
  • Proactive and solution-oriented, comfortable working in a fast-paced deadline driven environment.
  • Willingness to work until the job is done, even if it requires overtime, when necessary.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Visio is preferred
  • Two years of successful sales, purchasing and/or inside sales experience in the automation / controls industry is preferred
  • Knowledge of controls and instruments is a plus.
