This can be a permanent remote position (for the right candidate. Due to Covid, we are all remote currently) so you can have the best of both worlds: No need to relocate or commute but be a part of a dynamic and new way of thinking company. The Senior Property Accountant candidate will need to have 3 years minimum Property Accounting experience as well as a Bachelor’s in Accounting. The position will be responsible for the General Accounting / Financial Reporting, audit, and interdepartmental support.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare monthly and quarterly reporting packages
- Accrual and cash journal entries
- Reviewing operating statements and variance reports
- Prepare monthly income statement variance analysis.
- Interact and communicate with property managers and asset managers
- Reconcile Accounts Receivable, security deposits, and rent rolls to financial statements for all properties.
- Prepare and distribute monthly financial reports, prepare monthly journal entries and bank reconciliations.
- General ledger analysis and review ledger accounts
- Review Accounts Payable function
- Reconcile Prepaid Rents to Financial Statements
- Perform cash management functions
- Assist with Property Managers' questions regarding tenant statements
- Special projects and other responsibilities as assigned
- Conduct meetings with site team regarding financials
- Assist in scaling the accounting department as the company grows
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or min 3 years of Multi-Family Property Accounting Experience
- Yardi experience or another real estate accounting software preferred
- Knowledge of accounting principles and procedures
- Familiar with MS Office Suite, emphasis on Excel

Compensation:
- $65,000-$75,000 annually DOE
