Job Responsibilities


The Air Liquide Biogas Project Manager will lead the planning, construction and commissioning of Renewable Gas (RNG) Plants including Gas Collection Systems and Pipeline Construction with an emphasis on Safety, Quality, Budget and On-time Completion of capital projects.


Duties and Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate leadership in process and operational safety at all times and demand that of others, including project personnel, visitors, contractors. Maintain a culture of zero accidents and injuries in all work performed. Maintain safety as the first priority.
  • Manages professional employees and/or supervisors, and is accountable for the performance and results of a team within own discipline.
  • Adapts departmental plans and priorities to address resource and operational challenges. .Provides technical guidance to employees, colleagues and/or customers.
  • Execute and deliver projects as per AL Biogas project management processes.
  • Develop project execution schedules.
  • Provide input to project financial estimates and budgets.
  • Prepare Request for Proposal (RFP) packages for contractors, engineers and vendors.
  • Directly manage suppliers for project expediting and progress purposes.
  • Manage compliance with contractual requirements and specifications on projects.
  • Manage projects toward on-time and on-budget based KPIs.
  • Take full responsibility for the safety, budget and schedule of assigned projects.
  • Provide accurate and timely reporting to stakeholders
  • Manage and properly document Change Orders.
  • Manage and maintain the project risk register.
  • Coordinate effectively with project interfaces (Safety, Product, Estimating, Proposal, Commissioning, Procurement, Risk, Inspection, Logistic, Supply Chain, Expediting)
  • Maintain project quality control/ quality assurance and or supervision.
  • Prepare and track purchase requests and orders for materials and services.
  • Leverage the lessons learned from project execution and suggest improvements.
  • Participate in risk reviews of projects activities.
  • Lead Plant Commissioning activities.
  • Supervise the installation/start-up supervision team.
  • Manage Balance of Plant (BOP) engineering efforts.
  • Obtain technical guidance and consultation from Air Liquide engineering and other experts/Design Authorities as needed.
  • Responsible for coordinating or conducting configuration of system electrical and instrumentation and control diagrams, including PLCs.
  • Responsible for coordinating system Factory Acceptance Testing and Site Acceptance Testing in field locations.
  • Responsible for compliance with Industrial Management System (quality/ process governance)
  • Maintain accurate records of target accounts, opportunities, quotes, projects, contracts and correspondence in company approved databases.
  • Travel to project sites to validate project progressing, adherence to safety and quality control practices.
  • Other duties, as required, in support of growing Air Liquide’s Biogas business.

Qualifications


Required

  • B.S. in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering
  • 8+ experience managing industrial projects valued at $5MM to $30MM
  • Experience evaluating and managing project risk
  • Proficient in Project Scheduling Software (MS Project or similar) and Project Accounting Processes
  • Skilled at conflict resolution, risk management and guiding resolution of competing technical/ schedule/ cost priorities
  • Strong critical thinking and problem solving skills, data organization and analysis, technical and communication skills, teamwork and collaboration - promoting positive team dynamics
  • Demonstrates strong process and operational safety behavior at all times.
  • Adept at communicating technical information to a non-technical audience.
  • Strong command of English, verbal and written.

Preferred

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification
  • Strong sense of urgency, and responds to important communications rapidly, including during off-hours when urgent situations arise
  • Developing strong customer and supplier relationships
  • Adept at organizational networking and influencing
  • Ability to obtain results with globally, culturally and functionally diverse populations

Additional Information


Working Conditions

  • Willingness and ability to respond to urgent issues outside normal business hours
  • Willingness to travel up to travel 20% of the time and up to 50% of the time during short-duration, busy periods
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to: stand, walk, sit, reach with hands and arms; speak and hear; lifting objects up to 25 lbs.
